INFORMATION The beans are coarse and strongly flavoured when mature but are delicious if harvested young. The very young pods can be eaten whole.

Flowering time: early spring and early summer

Plant in sun or part shade in humus, rich, moist, and well-drained fertile soil 22cm apart.
PLANTING The planting area should be prepared well beforehand working in any necessary compost or fertiliser.

Water plants well before planting out and afterwards if the soil is dry.

Remove plants from container by pushing through from the underside of the pack.

Remove dead flower heads to promote continued flowering.
